Happy Bill of Rights ratification day

It was a mere 220 years ago that the Bill of Rights was ratified and officially became part of the Constitution.

By the way, whatever happened to that 10th amendment, anyway?

But we digress. The Bill enumerated limitations on the national government, which some founders thought unnecessary given how clearly that point was made in the Constitution itself. How many of your fellow Americans, or for that matter you, can tick off what an old buddy of mine called the original Big Ten?

Beyond that, how many understand that the document as a whole – the Constitution and its complete set of 27 amendments – were intended to grant government extremely limited authority while specifying things the government is not to do?

What exactly does “limited government” mean in this day and age, anyway?
